Take Note: materials are scratch-resistant, not scratch-proof. Pets are unable to get their claws into the fabric as it’s not easy for the pets to scratch. But if there is a pet that is very aggressive or determined to scratch and uses a lot of pressure or force (like a dog biting the sofa with forceful bites) then it is possible to destroy the fabric, the fabric is durable but doesn't mean indestructible.
Just a tip, In order to ensure the longevity of the sofa, it is important that customer's ensure to keep their cat's nails trimmed and discourage any scratching behavior. In most cases, when cats discover that they are unable to get their claws into fabric they will no longer show any interest in scratching at the material.
